-some coworkers very nice and good to work with -Pre-pandemic nosotros were able to picket membership screenings

Incredibly low pay for the task being done. Higher ups recollect the novelty of working here is enough and are inconsiderate of the employees below them that ultimately make the organization successful. HR is a joke. They're atrocious at replying to emails if they ever do, and when they practise information technology feels impersonal and fake. They make it articulate they are there for the benefit of the company and not the people that work in that location, which makes the overall experience worse. There is no safe place to report misconduct or mistreatment from managers that actually goes anywhere. Earlier this year another department was desperately trying to get benefits for the pandemic equally they were working full fourth dimension hours even though they were listed as office time employees. It'due south my agreement HR yet hasn't addressed this effect properly and has stopped replying to emails, which bluntly should be taken to the California labor board.

Toxic civilization and nowhere to plough to because 60 minutes is worse than CEO. Can't go to Hr for any grievance. They either ignore or showtime poor performance process to endeavour to intimidate or stop staff.

There are a lot of skilful people at this company who truly care about the importance of art in film, and it shows in multiple departments.
Cons
The executives at this company are blinded by privilege and are disingenuous in their attempts to create a more than various infinite for artists. They don't pay their part time staff adequately and ask them to work total fourth dimension hours in other departments without benefits - even now during a wellness pandemic.

Ampas employees have piece of cake hours & piece of cake job. Almost Employees literally work 9am to 5pm. Most of the jobs are very easy with little focus on results. Employees get out promptly at 5:01pm unless of course it is Oscar season and then the hours are extended. Ampas employees get to get to the Oscars and run across movies for costless and run into actors/actresses & Hollywood types who visit etc. The pension plan for lifers is decent. They never take lay offs and rarely fire anyone.
Cons
University Sr. Mgmt believe their own B.S. Academy Sr. Mgmt. dont care for their employees nicely. They tell employees they are all LUCKY to work at that place. Yeah its fun to work in Hollywood & the motion picture manufacture but come on half of the metropolis of LA does it so get over yourselves. University salaries are the worst and The Sr. Mgmt mentality is very limited and very non turn a profit merely ironically its the wealthiest, highest profile non turn a profit on the planet. The Sr. Mgmt. squad have obtained the most basic, unimpressive educational achievements and they accept about no business concern experience or jobs doing annihilation else other than working at The University. You wont observe any rocket scientists, MBAs or Harvard grads here - unless of course they are the successful, impressive Academy Lath members.
